The Roundtables

Roundtable 1 (Policy): Trusted Futures: Horizon 2 Action Plan Deep Dive

Hosted in partnership with the Department of Home Affairs

Australia's 2023-2030 Cyber Security Strategy has moved into its second horizon. Action 2.1 sets a clear objective: ensure Australians can trust their digital products and platforms. Turning that objective into working policy is a harder question, and it is the question this roundtable takes on.

Convened with the Department of Home Affairs, this session brings policymakers, standards bodies, manufacturers and critical infrastructure operators into the same room to workshop what implementation actually requires. Discussion will focus on three areas: the interdependencies between Action 2.1 and the wider Horizon 2 program, the international regimes shaping Australia's approach including the EU Cyber Resilience Act and the UK PSTI regime, and the open questions the sector still needs to resolve on scope, conformance and enforcement.

Participants will be asked to contribute directly. The output is a set of practical inputs on sequencing, industry readiness and the conditions needed for a labelling and assurance regime to work at scale in the Australian market.

This roundtable is suited to those interested in policy, regulation and compliance, standards development, and product security specialists working on connected device assurance.
